NAPLAN - National Testing
Year 3 and 5 students sit the national test each May, including
a language conventions test (grammar, punctuation and spelling), a writing
task, a reading test and a numeracy test. In previous years, the written task
has been a narrative and recently the students were required to write a
persuasive argument. In preparation for the tests, teachers focus on grammar,
punctuation, spelling, dictation, reading, comprehension and various areas of
mathematics and problem solving.
