The Instrumental Music Program (IMP) is a State Government initiative providing small group tuition and ensemble experience to eligible Year 4-6 students.

The Maroochydore SS IMP is currently run by Garry Buckley, Insrumental Music Teacher.
Members of the Instrumental Music Program attend Concert Band rehearsals as a group each Wednesday morning from 8.30am until 9.00am, in addition to attending a small group lesson (3-8 students) throughout the day.
Instruments:
Brass: Trumpet, Trombone, Tuba
Woodwind: Flute, Clarinet, Alto Saxophone, Bass Clarinet
Percussion: All available instruments
The cost is $30 per year for tuition and $40 per year for instrument hire. Most students are provided with instruments for the first year and then asked to purchase their own for subsequent years. Students with their own instruments may apply for tuition only at any time.
All Year 3 students will be tested for suitability in Term 4 and offers provided thereafter for the following year.
